I might actually put together this entry, but I want to release it at a reasonable time of the day so people are actually awake to see it.
So, you’ll probably see it tomorrow.
Probably.

Just like it says above. I’ll explain tomorrow. No death or drama, just procrastination, among other things.
…when you open up the file for your book and what you notice is that about 1,500 words are missing from the work that you’ve done over the past three days or so?
And you have been saving versions of your novel, but you realize that all of those saves are missing the 1,500 words?
And the only consolation you have is that still leaves you with a little over 76,000 words not deleted?
On top of all that, I believe I pulled something in my thigh missing a step down the stairs and have been hobbling around all night?
Yeah, it’s been one of those days. Now I’m going to see if I can get my 500 words in today and keep it going. If you feel like telling me any similar horror stories that you’ve had, feel free to do so in the comments.
Cheers.
Again, running into technical difficulties, this time with Internet going down. This update is from my phone.
I’ll have a bigger update later tomorrow. Trying to think of ideas for this next post and some others to come.
OK, might as well face… the carnage.
+2,821 words written.
Days writing: 4 out of 7.
Daily writing goals met (500+ words): 1 out of 7 days.
All numbers down. I think my explanation is that I started to get to some parts of the book I already wrote, started tinkering, and screwed around too much. Work also interfered and I’ve been battling a cold, although I could have easily made time if I made the extra effort.
In the end, the excuses don’t matter. This week I plan to turn it around.
Oh, and there is another post coming, too. That will likely happen later tonight.
Ugh.
It was a putrid writing week. Cannot justify it other than procrastination, distraction, and – for sure – lack of direction.
For what it’s worth, here’s the stats:
+822 words written.
Days writing: 3 out of 7.
Obviously the very worst writing week that I’ve had since I began the blog. The only thing that I can see as a bright spot is that the times that I go without writing are becoming shorter and shorter over the course of my life. There were times where I went years without writing a single word of fiction.
I’m better than this. Tomorrow I’m going to set up a plan for a daily writing goal – maybe not as ambitious as some advice I’ve read, but ambitious. I’ll talk about it then, and maybe do another entry on another subject.
Stay tuned.
