Ugh, I didn’t even want to post this, but I have to post my failures as much as my successes.
Not much to say on the writing front. I think it was just one of those things I wasn’t sure how to put down on the page in a way that seemed compelling. I think I’ve worked it out and I’m planning on getting that started today, but it was a long stretch of nothing for a while. Not how I wanted to end the half-year.
Not to get too much into IRL stuff, but I am also beginning to get busy with the moving process and getting everyone in my family to where they are going, so I’m just going to have to admit that I didn’t use time as effectively as I wanted. I’m a bit excited for that stuff, but more wanting to get it over with.
I think I realized why it has been taking me so long with these Lord of the Rings reads. I’ve been trying to go through it section by section rather than just have fun and reading it like I do with normal books. There’s a reason why I do a lot of rereads, to catch things I didn’t the first time around. So, I’m going to keep myself to a promise that I will do a review of Chapters 5-7 this week (I can manage that at least). I need to stop beating myself up over not reading things in a drawn out and analytical way. And I have been enjoying the book, everyone, truly – there’s been so many great moments of dialogue, atmosphere, and setting that I’m really getting into. In a way, I need to not take the book so seriously and just enjoy it.
Liverpool FC won the Premier League this past week, so there’s that at least.
Anyway, here’s the stats so you can all have a laugh. I know I’ll do better next week as we slide into July. Also, at some point I’ll post my midyear numbers to see how things are going.
