Writing Journal, 3 January 2024: Quiet final week for 2023

Quiet is a better word than slow, lol.

Last week was at least better productivity-wise compared to the previous week, but not by much. There was a lot more travel, a lot more disruptions regarding my mother-in-law’s health (she’s still in the hospital), and my wife and I were quite busy signing a lease for a new apartment in Fort Madison, and beginning our move out there. I at least published two different pieces here and on Substack last weekend, which is more than I expected to be honest.

Here are both last week’s and last month’s totals.

Writing statistics for the week ending 30 December 2023:
2,086 words written.
Days writing: 2 out of 7.
Days revising/planning 2out of 7 for 60 minutes.
Daily Writing Goals Met: 3 out of 7 days.

Writing statistics for December 2023:
Words: 12,367.
Revise/Plan: 360 minutes.
Daily Writing Goals Met: 54%

Again, higher numbers but more inconsistency.

I’ll wait until the weekend and the regular newsletter to post my yearly totals, but the general news is I had a slower second half of the year compared to the first half, but I ended up setting new personal bests for yearly word count and meeting my daily quotas. I’ll post the newsletter this coming Saturday.

See you then.
