Writing Journal 6 March 2024: Making up ground as real life weirdness continues

Much of it has been some odds and ends, some original poetry, and plenty of things online.

Some of this writing has been in hospital rooms this week. My son was in an accident at work and got a head injury. It’s going to take a while for him to get better, and he’s still in hospital, but we’ve seen considerable improvement in the days since it happened. Patience, I suppose, but he’s not too good at that.

Considering I’ve driven the equivalent of all the way across the state twice this week, I’m not surprised I wrote slightly less than what I did the last week. However, I was productive, which meant I finished up strong for February. Here’s the numbers for last week and February:

So, not as consistent in writing as last month, but at least 10,000 words more than I wrote in January, which is a great thing. I’m now only about 2,200 words behind my pace of 200,000 words minimum this year. There are at two things I need to absolutely focus on writing this week, my piece this week online (Prose Life), one other piece, and getting restarted on The Yank Striker 2.

Wish me luck.
