I finally wrapped up the school year at my old school district last week, and I spent nearly all of last Saturday at the Authors on the Riverwalk event in Des Moines. As I’ve already belly-ached over some previous writing journals driving halfway across the state on a regular basis and constantly commuting from work to hotels and home and other places has not been conducive to any amount of productive writing.
In the end, I was surprised I got more than 1,000 words written this week.
The stats:
Writing statistics for the week ending 25 May 2024:
1,253 words written.
Days writing: 4 of 7.
Days revising/planning: 3 of 7 for 150 total minutes.
Daily Writing Goals Met (500+ words or 30 minutes of planning/revisions): 4 of 7 days.
Again, the Memorial Day weekend was a bit of a wash, and looking forward… well, for the next several days I’m going to be away from my laptop with various activities, so I’m a bit pessimistic about this week, as well. Afterwards, however, I’ve got 10 weeks or so to get my act together for any chance of making it to my 200,000-word quota I was shooting for this year.
That’s it for now. I’ll talk more later.
