Well, I wasn’t quite expecting the second-biggest week of the entire year last week. But, I was trying to be ambitious, so maybe it’s paid off?
Here’s the numbers for last week.
Writing statistics for the week ending 21 September 2024:
7,721 words written.
Days writing: 7 of 7.
Days revising/planning: 0 of 7 for 0 total minutes.
Daily Writing Goals Met (500+ words or 30 minutes of planning/revisions): 7 of 7 days.
I’d explain this week’s results because I’ve been working hard on more than one top project, especially my sequel to The Yank Striker (working title, Yank Striker 2) and made great progress on it (nearly 2,000 words on that alone). I now have a clear idea of how I want to wrap up the story and how to get there, with maybe about seven chapters left to get through. I don’t want to spend much more than 20-25,000 words on this. The good news is if I spend an average of 250 words on the project per day beginning October 1, I’m guaranteed to have the additional 25,000 words by the end of the year and thus I should be done with the first draft by the end of the year. My hope is it would be ready for publication by summer 2025.
