Hi to everyone.
Considering I finished off the rough draft for The Yank Striker 2 about two weeks back, I was expecting something of a letdown in productivity the following week. However, considering the numbers I did have, I can’t complain much. And I’m still keeping a good pace.
The numbers for last week:
Writing statistics for the week ending 25 January 2025:
Words: 4,953
Days writing: 7 of 7.
Days revising or planning: 1 of 7 for 30 minutes.
Daily Writing Goals Met (500+ words or 30 minutes of planning/revisions): 6 of 7 days.
In case you were wondering, if I keep up my minimum writing quota every day, I should be at 182,500 words per year. As some of you longer-term readers might remember, I’ve been exceeding those numbers for the past few years. If I want to keep at a pace for an even 200,000 words, I need to be writing about 3,846 words per week. But to get to a new record for me, 225,000, would take 4,327 words per week. I’m not going to begin running victory laps, but I’ve only missed that last weekly target once so far this year.
While The Yank Striker 2 is still on my mind, especially for revisions starting next month, I have at least two WIP in different stages of development I can and will be working on, as well as my blogs, my poetry (though those are notoriously small as far as word count) and other things. I’ve got plenty to write about if I really focus on things.
All you writers keep writing and the rest of you stay safe.
