Hello, there.
Frankly, I had a bit of a crash this week as the majority of my revisions on The Yank Striker’s Journey. Now it’s off to my editor/proofreader for the next round of work and I’ll really need to get moving on some new writing, because I fell behind these last couple weeks, no denying.
My totals:
Writing statistics for the week ending 3 May 2025:
Words: 2,511
Days writing: 3 of 7.
Days revising or planning: 5 of 7 for 540 minutes.
Daily Writing Goals Met (500+ words or 30 minutes of planning/revisions): 6 of 7 days.
Writing statistics for April 2025:
Words: 20,287
Revising/Planning: 2,790 minutes.
DWGM: 94 percent.
As you can see, light on the writing but very heavy on the revision – and this month might have been the heaviest revising month I’ve yet recorded. However, looking at this month, April was actually the second most productive month I’ve had so far in total word count.
I am aiming for writing at least 225,000 words this year and meeting my daily writing goals at least 80 percent of the time. As of the end of April, I have written 79,743 words, at least 4,000 words above the pace I need to set to get that word count goal. I have met my daily goal 89 percent of the time, which is well above that goal.
All in all, I’m feeling good about my progress… but not complacent by any means. The end of the school year is going to mean I need to be ultra-productive to avoid any slumps during the summer season.
I’m still planning on June 2025 for a release on The Yank Striker’s Journey. Hopefully I will have a more exact date as the revising process starts.
That’s it for now. Everyone take care of yourselves.
