I’m making this another quick one.
It feels like this year is sucking a lot of the brainpower from my head, especially the school year. I don’t think anyone who hasn’t been a full-time teacher somewhere in the public K-12 system really understands how much of a mental marathon a school year is under the best circumstances. But, enough of that for now. At least I have a spring break coming up.
Last week was… not as productive, but more consistently productive from my standpoint (fewer words, but more consistency in meeting daily quotas). Hopefully I’ll have a better week at the start of March when I look at the numbers. (If you had not heard, I’ve started to post my weekly journals the week after the week it covers on Saturdays. So far, I’ve not missed a week, which is much more than could be said for the past few months beforehand.
Also, I’m going to finally try to complete some of these Biography posts months after I first got the idea for them. I am now planning to devote at least one night a week to writing those rather than the fiction that has been obsessing me for at least the past year.
One other thing I am looking forward to when June rolls around? I want to see if I can get in contact with any Des Moines writing groups. I’m not sure what sort of writing groups there are around closer to me, but a quick Facebook search is not helpful. Google seems to be a bit more promising… but I’ll have to fully investigate it later.
Anyway, here’s the totals on the last week of February 2021. Writers keep writing and everyone keep safe.
+3,287 words written.
Days writing: 5 of 7.
Days revising/planning: 0 of 7 for total minutes.
Daily Writing Goals Met (500+ words or 30 minutes of planning/revisions): 4 of 7 days.
