Writing Journal 5.8.2021: Last week of April was unproductive, to put it mildly

The last week of writing in April really didn’t work out. That week’s total might have been one of the lowest of the year to date when I look back on it later.

Essentially, the problem I ran into was that I was not really feeling the section of writing I was on this week. I felt like I was in danger of repeating myself and falling out of interest in the subject. So, I wound up doing what I have found to be the best solution to such a problem – bring whatever scene or story that I’m writing to an abrupt end and move on to the next thing.

However, I did like that I put together another Writer’s Biography blog post last week, even if it was a bit more meta than most of them. As I set aside more time, I plan to try and write a bigger variety of things here, even though it will remain focused on writing in general and my writing life.

Anyway, here’s the totals for last week. Better luck for me and everyone else next time.

Week ending on May 1, 2021:
+1,747 words written.
Days writing: 4 of 7.
Days revising/planning: 0 of 7 for 0 total minutes.
Daily Writing Goals Met (500+ words or 30 minutes of planning/revisions): 2 of 7 days.
