Considering all of the weirdness going on with me, I’m surprised I wasn’t much lower in productivity than I was last week. I’m not going to guess where I am on my total goal just now, but based on the numbers I reviewed last week, I’m not doing too bad.
Here’s the numbers below.
Writing statistics for the week ending 9 November 2024:
Words: 3,666.
Days writing: 6 of 7.
Days revising or planning: 2 of 7 for 90 minutes.
Daily Writing Goals Met (500+ words or 30 minutes of planning/revisions): 6 of 7 days.
So, where does that leave me regarding my goals?
- At least 200,000 words written for the 2024 calendar year. Bonus points if I made it past the all-time personal record of 215,152 words I set last year.
I had estimated I would have to write about 533 words per day to get on a pace to match my personal best. I fell short of that pace by about 70 words, which isn’t fatal to making a new personal best, but might be if I keep coming short. - Meeting my daily writing goals (at least 500 words written or 30 minutes spent revising or planning new work) at least 75 percent of the year.
This should be set for sure. - (Recently added) complete my rough draft of The Yank Striker 2 (second in The Yank Striker series), which should be approximately 75,000 words, by the end of the calendar year.
As of this writing, I’m over 60,000 words on the rough draft. However, I fell short of the 260 words per day I need to get done for this.
I doubt I will have to do too much traveling for the next week or so. Last Saturday was spent moving my son into the new place he bought in the middle of Des Moines, and he’s really excited to get settled there with his girlfriend.
Hopefully I’ll be able to get a bit more writing done this week and getting closer to my goals. I’d love to have the problem of figuring how get a revised version of The Yank Striker 2 by summer 2025 on my hands.
See you around.
